Norway maple ‘Warmia’
Acer platanoides ‘Warmia’
Norway maple ‘Warmia’
A new variety of the Norway maple cultivated in the Nursery Of Trees And Ornamental Shrubs ‘GURSZTYN’. It is a seedling found in maple quarters in 2008 which we introduced into production after a ten-year period of observation and a value assessment. The crown of this variety is narrow, columnar and compact, it is slimmer than in the Acer platanoides ‘Columnare’ cultivar. The growth rate is weaker than of the species. One-year shoots relatively thick with short internodes. Dark green leaves with slightly raised edges. The variety is resistant to powdery mildew. It is used in small gardens, parks, housing estate greenery, as a tree to narrow streets. Hardiness zone 4.
Acer platanoides ‘Warmia’ came into being in a nursery located in Braniewo in Warmia, hence the name promoting a beautiful region with a rich history.
